Robotics-as-a-Service for Farms: Pay per Hectare, Not per Robot

ROBOTAT·October 8, 2026·2 min read

Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) is a model in which a farm orders the operation it needs, such as spraying, grass cutting or plowing, and the robot shows up and does it. The farm pays in SAR per hectare per operation. There’s no robot to buy, no fleet to manage, and no fixed season-long payroll. That is ROBOTAT’s model: we sell robotic agricultural services, not just the robot.

The traditional model vs the ROBOTAT model

Traditional model ROBOTAT model
How work gets done The farm hires seasonal workers The farm orders the service
Cost Monthly salaries, a fixed cost SAR per hectare per operation, a variable cost
Presence Workers on site all season The robot arrives when needed
Quality Performance varies crew to crew Standardised, measurable performance
Management You manage labour We manage the robot fleet

Which operations can you order?

  • Daily monitoring and pest scouting: the operation that steers all the others, cutting waste and cost across the season.
  • Grass cutting: repetitive manual work done uniformly and autonomously, from five to more than fifteen times a cycle.
  • Pesticide spraying: targeted application driven directly by the monitoring results, with less chemical.
  • Fertiliser spraying: recurring and fully automatable, fed by the same field map.
  • Pollination: time-sensitive work repeated during bloom, exactly what a robot never misses.
  • Seeding and plowing: seasonal groundwork on the same autonomous platform.

Today the robot runs ten of the thirteen stages of the crop cycle at high efficiency. The expansion path is clear: one operation, then several, then the fully integrated crop cycle.

How success is measured

Our success metric is manual labour hours replaced per hectare. Every operation is logged, so you can see what was done, where and when.

How to order

Through the ROBOTAT app: pick the operation and the area, and the robot arrives when needed, with ordering, scheduling and follow-up in one place. The robot doing the work is Shaddad, with its Cultivator, Sprayer and Mower attachments.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buy a robot?

No. With Robotics-as-a-Service you pay for the operation completed per hectare; we own the fleet and handle its maintenance and operation.

How is the price calculated?

In SAR per hectare per operation. Contact us for an estimate based on your farm’s area and crop.

Does it suit smaller farms?

Yes. The cost is variable and follows only the area and the operations you order.
